Alula’s Universal Translator converts a hardwire security system zones to wireless. The 8 zone hardwire to wireless translator converts the hardwire zones to wireless DSC, Honeywell, 2Gig, GE/Interlogix and Cryptix (Alula) protocols. This translator is the perfect solution to upgrade hardwire legacy systems to Alula’s Connect + platform.

Q: When replacing a legacy hardwire / wireless system, how can both the hardwire and wireless zones be converted?
A: The Hardwire to Wireless translator can convert up to 8 zones into a wireless protocol. In addition, legacy wireless can be translated by using the Wireless to Wireless translator.
Q: When converting hardwire zones into wireless, how can the motions and glass breaks be powered?
A: The translator has an on-board 12VDC power supply that can deliver up to 200mA. The rechargeable battery provides stand-by power.
Q: Since the Translator is not rated for fire devices, what is the best solution to add fire detection?
A: Add new fire alarm devices of the alarm control manufacturer that are approved for the product.
Universal Wireless to Wireless Translator / Repeater
Alula’s Universal Translator converts one wireless security system protocol to another. The translator converts the DSC, Honeywell, 2Gig, GE/Interlogix and Cryptix (Alula) protocols to any of the other protocols. When replacing a wireless system control panel to another brand, there is no need to change all the wireless transmitters — as they can be converted. This translator is the perfect solution to upgrade hardwire legacy systems to Alula’s Connect + platform.
- Compatible with existing burglary sensors going to new panels being installed from other manufacturers
- Translators will enroll: Keyfobs, DWS, Glassbreaks, PIRs, etc.

Alula’s Connect+ Sensor Repeater provides range extension for Connect+ sensors. Extending coverage improves proper sensor signal strength. Supported protocols are DSC, Honeywell, 2Gig, GE/Interlogix, Napco and Connect+ / Cryptix.

Connect + Sensor Repeater - RE030

When repeating life safety devices, such as smoke and CO detectors, two repeaters must be used in parallel.
This device can also be used to repeat Connect + Cryptix sensors.
Sensors must be enrolled into the RE620 Sensor Repeater.
Q: Can Smoke and Heat Detectors be connected to the Connect + Sensor Repeater?
A: Yes, when utilizing two repeaters on the system, Smokes and Heats can be repeated.
Q: When is the repeater necessary to install?
A: In larger structures, where distances between the Connect + and the sensor exceeds 70 ft, this repeater may be necessary to insure wireless reliability.

Connect + Touchpad Range Extender - RE030

The WiFi range from the Connect + depends on low interference from other WiFi devices.
First, your Connect + control panel must be located at least six feet from the customer’s WiFi router or gateway.
Repeaters the customer may have could also interfere, reducing range. It is typical that the maximum range between the Connect + and any Touchpad is about 40′ for reliable service.
The use of this WiFi repeater is a ‘best practice’ in homes greater than 3,500 sq ft.
Avoid mounting near WiFi appliances or metal objects that can reflect or interfere with the RF signaling.
Use Touchpad firmware 0.0.13.0 or later.
Q: When is it required that I use this repeater?
A: Use of the repeater helps insure that there is good WiFi strength for the Alula Touchpads to communicate. In larger homes (i.e. above 3,500 sf), there is a good chance a Touchpad will be a greater distance than 40′ – therefore, a repeater is a good idea to keep the Touchpads online, avoiding the communication from dropping out due to interference.
